My Top 4 Places to Find Inspiration for your Wedding Day

Cocktail hour champagne tower inspiration.

No matter if you are newley engaged or already deep into your wedding planning - if you’re like me you will want to find unlimited sources of inspiration to help in brining the day together. All the way from gowns to reception details and styling, I would love to share with you my favourite sites for curating the perfect mood board for your special day.

Top Tip: Share this mood board with your photographer when you enquire and also when you’ve booked so they can get a sense of what style you are going for on the day. This helps so much and personally I absolutely love seeing all of my clients mood boards and inspiration slowly being put together.

Ok, let’s get into it!

  1. Pinterest

Probably the most commonly used tool to create mood boards and find inspiration, and there is a reason for it. So many vendors and creators will showcase their images on Pinterest for people to see and creating mood boards becomes effortless when the algorithm gets a sense of your style and offers you endless inspiration.

Here you can find images that cover every single detail and it is a great place to start. I recommend building 1 large “Wedding” mood board or if you think you will be saving a lot of images, several smaller ones in sections to cover your day. For example I would break it down into the following:

  • Bridal gown & bridesmaids dresses: so you can picture what they would look like together

  • Groom & groomsmen outfits

  • Accessories: jewellery, perfume etc

  • Prep or getting ready: great when you will be searching for a place to get ready which will be cohesive in your wedding story

  • Florals & styling elements: everything from your wedding flowers to how the ceremony and reception will look, here I would also include cocktail hour inspiration

  • Extras: anything else you think would be a great addition to your day. This can be things like a champagne pop, gifts to bridesmaids and groomsmen, gifts or letters to each other etc

2. The Lane

The lane is a luxury online magazine, blog & directory. This is one of the first places I would look for inspiration if I was planning my own wedding. They have curated the perfect list of vendors and venues who are all consistent in style. You can also view full weddings with notes on styling, the couples story and their inspiration. I find this helps a lot when trying to put together a wedding day which is cohesive. Check out one of my favourite Lake Como venues from their blog here and an estate wedding with the most gorgeous poetic florals perfect for an estate wedding here.

3. The Friend Club

A highly curated list of creators who are unique in their own ways. You can create an account and spend hours browsing through creators and inspiration. They have also done all the hard work for you with their helpful filtering options where you can search by theme, colour or even season.

4. The Wed

An online magazine covering so many different topics all the way down to first dance song recommendations. They also release a yearly trend wedding guide which covers absolutely everything weddings. If this is something you are interested in purchasing, head over to their website.

I hope this has helped you find a few places to start when getting inspiration for your wedding. Of course, there are so many resources out there and if you ever have any questions or need tips, I am always happy to help. Remember to do what feels right for you as a couple and have fun in the process.

I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful mood boards and get excited about the wedding together!
